~ Draven ~

What the fuck just happened? I fed from her femoral artery and didn’t even realise that I was doing it. Draven masticated over what just transpired between Aliyah and himself. What they had was an electric, mind blowing, magnetic off the chart connection. He’d never experienced anything like this, not even with Delilah. Maybe that’s what made this whole thing bittersweet. It took Draven feeding from her femoral artery to trigger the memories of Delilah, his sweet Deedee.

Draven and Delilah had been together for twenty three years. They were madly in love and happy. Draven was one hundred years old when he fell for his bombshell, Deedee. Delilah was a pure vampire, and although Draven had mixed blood, his was still the more powerful of the two. Her blood was sweeter than any fruit he’d ever tasted, and she was stunning. She stood six foot tall, dark curly hair hung resting on her shoulder blades, and the most intense, vibrant, purple eyes you’d ever seen.

“Dravey baby, where you at?” Delilah hollered down the hallway.

“I’m coming, woman, what do you need?” he said as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck. The vein thrummed beneath his lips causing his dick to jump in his pants, he grinded his length into her back.

“Stop it.” She swatted him. “We have things to settle for the wedding. Remember, it’s tomorrow?”

How could he forget this damn wedding. It was doing his head in. He really didn’t give a fuck about having the whole shabam. He just wanted to be able to call her his, Mrs. Delilah Sangue. It has a ring to it, he mused.

Draven pushed off her and groaned, “Yes ma’am.”

“Pick one of these colours.”

“Why?”

“Just pick one! Damn it, Draven, why must you be so difficult?” she huffed.

He chuckled under his breath. “The dark red, why?”

“It’s for our bedroom.”

“You know I don’t care about that shit, whatever you want, do it. If you’re happy, I’m happy.” He wriggled his eyebrows at her.

“Seriously Draven, must you always be thinking of getting your hands in my damn panties?” She tried to hide her smile.

“You love it, baby. Don’t play hard to get, you know that turns me on.”

“Fuck off,” she giggled. “Now go to Dolph’s like we planned. You’re not supposed to see me before the wedding.”

Dolph was Draven’s best friend. He was part werewolf, part vampire, and his best man. He knew better than to question her, so instead he shook his head, kissed her pouty lips then slapped her ass and walked off.

Little did he realise that would be their last kiss goodbye.

Draven snapped out of his stroll down memory lane before it sucked him in deeper. He couldn’t comprehend the guilt he harboured. It’s not like he’d been unfaithful to Delilah, and she had been dead over two hundred years. Draven tried to convince himself that he wasn’t the cause of her death, but deep down he would forever blame himself for her demise. If he didn’t have a soul sucking, vindictive demon for a mother, then perhaps Delilah would still be here today.
